Secretary for Labour and Welfare Dr Law Chi-kwong Attends ISS-HK 2017 AGM as Guest of Honour

ISS-HK was privileged to have Dr Law Chi-kwong, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, to speak in the 2017 Annual General Meeting at the Auditorium of Duke of Windsor Social Service Building on 5 December 2017.

Dr Law described ISS-HK as a longstanding partner of the Hong Kong Government. He also complimented on the agency's international network, which enables her to operate services beyond Hong Kong borders.

"As can be seen from the latest Chief Executive's Policy Address, the Hong Kong Government is dedicated to building a caring, inclusive and fair society for all. The government cannot do this alone and must rally support from equally caring partners like the ISS. It is only through the joint collaboration of NGOs, the business sector and the community can some of Hong Kong's most pressing social issues be resolved." said Dr Law.

Mr C P Ho, Chairman of ISS-HK, reported on the highlights of ISS-HK during the year 2016/17. He concluded by saying, "It has been a year of united effort and committed service to improve the lives of thousands of individuals, children and families put under our case in Hong Kong, Mainland China and beyond. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the staunch support we have received from our partners and donors, as well as to the dedicated hard work of our staff and volunteers for making this achievement possible and for making a significant contribution to the creation of a better society."

Mr Mandala S. Purba, Consul from the Indonesian Consulate General, as well as representatives from the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R. and various government departments also attended the meeting.

The Annual General Meeting was chaired by Mr C P Ho, Chairman of ISS-HK. The resolutions to consider and adopt the accounts and annual report 2016/17 were passed. All existing members of the Advisory Committee were re-elected in the meeting.
