The Etiology of an Affair

Dr. Daniel Papero brought up some interesting factors that culminate in the causation of an affair:

• shaky life course with great need to have a relationship to stabilize oneself
• gradual distancing between couples and avoidance of the other's reactivity
• major disturbance in the family system.
• early introduction of sex into the relationship and lack of person-to-person relationship with each other.
• biological rhythms  between the couple out of sync.
