ISS 100th Anniversary Dinner
The ISS 100th Anniversary Dinner held on 1 November was a great success! We were honored to have the Hon John Lee Ka-chiu, the Chief Executive of HKSAR, and Mr. He Jing, the Deputy Director of Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR as our officiating guests. Mr Tam Yiu Chung, Vice Chairman of Chinese Association of Hong Kong & Macao Studies and Secretary – General of Hong Kong Coalition, and The Hon Mrs Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Former Chief Executive of the HKSAR also joined the celebration and gave their speeches. The event brought together government officials, representatives from political parties, commercial sector, NGOs, working partners, and colleagues to celebrate the remarkable day with enthusiastic cheers. Alongside the ceremony, an array of stunning live performances and heartfelt life stories were shared, leaving cherished memories for everyone. Thank you to all the valuable guests for making the occasion unforgettable!
Founded in 1924, ISS responded to the need for intercountry social services due to large scale European migration after World War I. Likewise, ISS-HK was established in 1958 to pioneer intercountry adoption service to orphans who were left homeless after World War II. With a General Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland, the ISS worldwide network includes more than 120 countries across seven continents.
