"The Cultures & Colors of HOPE” concluded successfully
The biennial cultural show “The Cultures & Colors of HOPE” was successfully held on 10 April 2016 at ISS-HK’s HOPE Centre in Wan Chai. The event was graced with the presence of Mrs Candy Yeung, Assistant Director of Home Affairs of the HKSAR Government; Ms Bernardita L. Catalla, Consul General of the Philippines; Mr Hameed Jalal, Member of The Committee on the Promotion of Racial Harmony, as well as Mr Madhav Khanal, a representative from Equal Opportunities Commission.
This year, the show continued to promote appreciation, acceptance and respect of different races and cultures through performances by people from Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Nepal, India and Sri Lanka. A total of 14 performances took place, including ethnic song, martial art, band and dance performances.
As a support service centre for ethnic minorities, HOPE has been striving to enhance the integration of ethnic minorities in Hong Kong society, and to create an inclusive community that embraces cultural diversity and racial harmony since its establishment in 2009.
The cultural show was generously sponsored by the Home Affairs Department.
