The Secretary for Financial Services and The Treasury, Professor K C Chan, visited the ISS-HK HOPE Centre on 28 April 2016, accompanied by the Wan Chai District Officer, Mr Rick Chan.

Greeted by the Chief Executive, Mr Stephen Yau, and the Migrants Programme Director, Ms Adrielle Panares, Professor Chan was introduced to the Center’s services and the multi-ethnic project team. Professor Chan also met with women and children in the interest classes to better understand the challenges faced by ethnic minorities in Hong Kong.

A support service centre for ethnic minorities, HOPE stands for Harnessing Opportunities and Potentials for Ethnic Minorities. Located in Wanchai, the HOPE Center provides a variety of social and cultural services to facilitate the integration of ethnic minorities in Hong Kong and to create a community with cultural diversity, racial harmony and equality.
